Effects of Task Requirements on Choice of Upper Extremity Use in Subjects Chronic Post-Stroke
Trevor Foster presented this poster in September 2017 at Cleveland State University's Undergraduate Research Day. Trevor worked with Dr. Whitford to determine various task requirements that affect use of the upper extremity in individuals post-stroke. The results from this research will be combined with data from a healthy cohort to enhance current rehabilitation techniques for individuals post-stroke. Trevor plans to present these findings at the Ohio Physical Therapy Association's Scientific Symposium in October 2017.
Communication & Awareness: Incorporating Accelerometers into Physical Therapy with Patients Who Have Aphasia
Andrea Matanovic and Amanda Videmsek presented this poster in December 2016 at the Ohio Physical Therapy Association Marilyn Mount Case Report Night. Both worked with Dr. Whitford to investigate the use of accelerometers for increasing awareness and encouraging use of the paretic arm in individuals post-stroke. The poster shared findings about enhancing communication and rehabilitation of people post-stroke who have aphasia.

Effect of Accelerometer Based Feedback on Paretic Upper Extremity Amount of Use and Quality of Movement: A Case Study
In 2015, Mishgan Abdullah and Dr. Whitford presented this poster investigating the use of feedback from accelerometers used in the home setting during the recovery of an individual post-stroke. The data collected from this study explored the use of newer technology in the home setting to aide in rehabilitation of an individual post-stroke.
